Most vehicles have front-wheel steering, but if your vehicle is one of the exceptions, then select Rear Wheels or even Rear Coupling from the Steering menu.
The Lock-to-Lock Time is assumed to apply when the vehicle travels forwards or backwards, and must be non-zero. If you have different lock-to-lock rates for forward and reverse, click Advanced and use the Advanced Editor.
Tip: Lock-to-lock time is a term that was introduced in the 1980s. While it can be a useful way to describe steering characteristics, it is now a little-used parameter in the motoring industry. Far more common is the number of turns of the steering wheel lock to lock. Clearly the two parameters are closely related and it may be useful when defining new vehicles to think in terms of number of turns lock to lock. The time it takes to complete one turn of the wheel can vary between vehicles according to steering wheel size, resistance to turning, and other factors.
