You can set up a file that specifies the settings to use for Autodesk InfraWorks 360 data when it is brought into AutoCAD Civil 3D.
An object settings file specifies what types of objects will be brought into AutoCAD Civil 3D and also specifies settings for the objects. You can set up multiple files to handle different scenarios. You specify which object settings file to use when you open the InfraWorks 360 model.
Pre-defined object settings files are provided in the following folders:
- C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2016\enu\Data\InfraWorks Object Settings\Metric
- C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D 2016\enu\Data\InfraWorks Object Settings\Imperial
The following pre-defined object settings files are provided:
- All Objects.xml: Brings in all types of InfraWorks 360 objects
- Design Objects.xml: Brings in only InfraWorks 360 design objects
- Planning Objects.xml: Brings in only InfraWorks 360 planning objects
- Click Insert tab
InfraWorks 360 panel InfraWorks 360 Configure InfraWorks 360 - Civil 3D Exchange Settings Find. The Configure InfraWorks 360 – Civil 3D Exchange Settings dialog box is displayed. Note: You can also access this dialog box from the Open InfraWorks 360 Model dialog box. - Select the check boxes under InfraWorks 360 Object to control which types of InfraWorks 360 model objects to bring into AutoCAD Civil 3D when this settings file is used. Note: You have the option to further refine the selection of InfraWorks 360 model objects when you open the InfraWorks 360 model.
- Click the buttons under Civil 3D Object Settings to open dialog boxes which you can use to specify settings for the objects when they are brought into AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Click
to save the object settings file. - Click OK to close the dialog box.
