A Product can be a single component or assembly that is produced as the output of the manufacturing process. Products can be nested within other products and are represented hierarchically in the Material Flow Browser.
To create a product using material flow:
- On the Factory tab, in the Material Flow panel, click Product
. The Material Flow Browser displays the Product tab and a new product entry. To change the name of the product, click on the name to highlight it and then click again to edit the text. - Right-click the product name and select Properties to view the Factory Properties palette for the selected product. You can also open the palette by selecting Factory Properties from the Palette drop-down menu on the Factory tab.
- Continue to add any products to be manufactured in the factory.
To nest a product within another product, do the following:
- In the Material Flow Browser, on the Product tab, right-click an existing product node and select Add.
- Specify a name for the product either during this process or when convenient. A default name is provided.
