Options for Procuring and Updating ITM Content

With the Autodesk Fabrication products, you have two different approaches that can be used for procuring and editing ITM content:

Both options are described below.

To see what ITM content comes standard with the latest Fabrication releases, you can quickly search the ITM content supplied by Autodesk on the Autodesk Fabrication Search ITM Content page.

Building Your Own Content

Project requirements vary by company, region, and country. Building your own content is one method or approach that could be used for procuring and updating ITM content for a project.

So that you can build your own content, Autodesk provides a comprehensive, unlocked sample manufacturer dataset, and a generic dataset based on industry standards. These ITMs can be used as templates to create content and services that meet your individual needs. By opting to build your own libraries of content, you could have access to a dataset that matches your business needs, is fully controlled by you, and is compatible with the Autodesk Fabrication software products, as well as Revit software products.

To get started building your own content, see the following section of the Autodesk Fabrication Help: Creating Content.

Using Third-party Service Providers

Third-party service providers exist in the market and can help you get up and running without having to make your own content libraries. Autodesk’s Advanced MEP Specialized Partners can help you explore the opportunities available in the market. Find a list of specialized partners by going to the Autodesk Reseller Center website and selecting ‘Advanced MEP’ under 'Specializations'.
