In the Select Content area, you can select content packs to install with AutoCAD Plant 3D. Content packs are collections of locale- and discipline-specific content files. On the Configurable Folders area, you can specify a location for the Content Pack install path.
Additional content packs can be downloaded from Autodesk Exchange for AutoCAD Plant 3D (App store) after installation. For more information see How to find Content Packs for AutoCAD Plant 3D html.
By default AutoCAD Plant 3D installs the content packs to the following location:
- C:\AutoCAD Plant 3D 2016 Content\
The Content Packs include the following:
- Plant AME: Contains AME piping components.
- Plant ASME: Contains ASME piping components.
- Plant AWWA: Contains AWWA ductile iron piping components.
- Plant DIN: Contains DIN piping components.
During installation, you can specify custom locations for content:
- Default Content - Default content files are installed on your computer in the default location. When you uninstall the program, default content files are also uninstalled.
- Local Content - Local content files are installed on your computer in non-standard locations. You can install a content group to a location other than the default folder. When you uninstall the program, local content files are also uninstalled.
Important: With AutoCAD Plant 3D, you can modify the shared content folder after installation. To avoid accidentally overwriting or uninstalling content on a network location, it is recommended that you first install to the default location. After installation, configure AutoCAD Plant 3D to use the network location. For more information, see plantmodifysharedcontentfolder in the Command Reference.
If you customize files and then reinstall a content pack to the same location, existing files that have been modified are overwritten.
