DWF and DWFx file types can be inserted into an Inventor Publisher using the Insert command. The command enables an “option” that controls the insert of views and animations found within the DWF file in to Inventor Publisher. Both views and animations are selected for import by default. The views and animations are represented as a series of storyboards and snapshots within Inventor Publisher.
Import Views - All the views found within a DWF file are imported and represented as one storyboard named "Views". Each individual view in the storyboard is represented as an individual snapshot. The name of the snapshot is the name of the view in the DWF file.
Import Animations - All the animations in the DWF are represented as a storyboard in Inventor Publisher. Each individual animation in the storyboard is represented as another storyboard. Every frame of the animation is represented as a snapshot.
Import BOM View Types
Structured - Subassembly structure is maintained in the BOM. Once Structured has been specified as the Import option, you can further control the BOM when it is created. The additional control enables you to define whether the BOM displays All Levels of components (sub-assemblies and its components) or displays the First Level Only (subassemblies only).
Parts Only -(Default) All parts of the main assembly are listed and no sub-assembly structure exists in the BOM.
Note: DWFx files that are password protected cannot be imported in to Inventor Publisher.
