Map UVs using Contour Stretch Mapping

To map UVs using contour stretch mapping

  1. Select the polygon faces to which you want to apply the contour stretch mapping.

The selection must have four discernible corners (even if it isn't perfectly rectangular) and a clear contour.

  2. From the main menu, select UVs > Contour Stretch > .
  3. Set the Contour Stretch Mapping options that appear, then click Project.
  4. If you turned on User defined corner vertices, select four corner vertices, then press Enter.

When User defined corner vertices is off, the selection's corners are automatically detected.

Contour stretch mapping is applied to the selection.
Note: Once you've applied a contour stretch UV mapping, modifying any of the topology changes that you made before applying it will have dramatic and usually undesirable results. This is because the topology change affects the contour that the projection uses to stretch the polygon selection.
