Controls the strength of attached nodes.
Mute Node
-
Strength
- Fades the node's effect for all the objects at the same time.
-
Random Strength
- Smoothly fades the node's effect on all the objects in a random order.
-
Step Strength
- Turns the node's effect off one object at a time.
Mute Ramp
Allows you to customize the shape of the strength of the mute effect over distance.
-
Reverse Mute Order
- Reverses the order in which objects are affected. Most useful in conjunction with the
Step Strength setting.
Strength
-
Strength Map
- Determines the input file (2D texture, animated texture, etc) that controls the shape of the mute effect.
-
Map Projection Axis
- Determines the axis along which the
Strength Map is projected.
-
Map Helper
- Displays the object being used to interactively place the
Strength Map in the scene. You can right-click the field to create a new helper object (a plane) if none exists. You can also middle-drag a mesh into this field or right-click to connect a selected mesh. If a mesh is already connected, you can also right-click to break its connection or show it in the Outliner.
Note: For the best results, assign the same texture to both the
Strength Map and the
Map Helper (this automatically happens when creating a new helper object).
Individual Axis Controls
Allows for individual envelopes per axis.
-
Affect X,
Affect Y,
Affect Z
- Determines which axes the mute affects.
-
Strength X,
Strength Y,
Strength Z
- Determines the strength of the mute effect on each axis.
-
Random Strength X,
Random Strength Y,
Random Strength Z
- Smoothly fades the node's effect on each object in a random order on the appropriate axis.
-
Step Strength X,
Step Strength Y,
Step Strength Z
- Turns the node's effect off one object at a time on the appropriate axis.
Time Based Mute
-
Loop Frames
- Sets the number of frames before MASH loops the
Beat Ramp.
-
Beat Ramp
- Allows you to customize the strength of the mute over time.
-
X Strength,
Y Strength,
Z Strength
- Controls the strength of the mute effect in the respective axes.
-
Stagger (frames)
- Offsets each object along the ramp.
-
Loop the Ramp
- Determines whether or not to loop the mute effect once it has run through the
Beat Ramp.
-
inStrengthPP powered ramp
- Use the values coming in from this attribute to determine what part of the ramp is read. Useful in conjunction with the Curve node for age-based effects.
-
Particle Lifespan
- Adjusts the lifespan of the particles used when inStrengthPP is enabled.
Mute by String
Allows you to mute the connected node's effect on multiple objects at once. You can enter object numbers separated by commas (i.e. 0, 3, 5), or number ranges separated by a hyphen (i.e. 1-6).
-
Filter On
- Any object numbers/ranges entered here will remain on, regardless of other mute values.
-
Filter Off
- Any object numbers/ranges entered here will remain off, regardless of other mute values.
