Alembic Caching
Save and load Maya scenes and geometry as Alembic-based cache files with Alembic cache export and import options. Alembic files are highly portable and application independent so they can be shared, processed, and played back by a number of content creation applications.
Scene Assembly
Use this feature to create, edit, and view large or complex scenes without the typical overhead memory that can slow your workflow down. Building a scene with Scene Assembly improves viewport interactivity and accelerates scene loading time, preventing some common issues with working on large data sets.
File Referencing
Assemble multiple objects, such as modeled polygons, shading materials, and animated characters, without importing the files or objects into a scene. The contents of referenced files appear in the scene, but the data for the objects is read or referenced from pre-existing files that remain separate and unopened.
Assets
Add a collection of nodes to a specialized Maya asset node for ease of scene management. Assets are particularly useful for streamlining and maintaining workflows while simultaneously allowing the scene author to securely control what aspects of the scene particular artists are allowed to modify.
