For various options you will need to select either the hair system, hair follicles, curves, or CVs.

To make it easier to pick a hair system, curves, or follicles, set the following pick mask:
- Click the Object Selection Maskbutton on the Status Line and select All Objects Off.
- Click the button on the Status Line to restrict the selection to curves.
- To make it easier to pick CVs on hair curves, do the above and then click the button on the Status Line.
And then you can select > to convert your curve selection to the hair system, follicles, specific curves (Start, Rest), or CVs. See nHair menu.
To select the hair system
- Do one of the following:
- Drag to select the hair curves and then select .
- Select hairSystem in the Outliner or Hypergraph. (Windows > Outliner, Window > Hypergraph: Hierarchy)
To select follicles
- In the Start or Rest Position, select the curve(s) relating to the desired follicle(s) and then select .
To select curves
- In the Start or Rest Position, click a curve to select it and then + click to select additional curves.
You may find it easier to select curves by turning off the Strokes display. (Show > Strokes)
To select all curves
- Do one of the following:
- Drag a box around the surface to select all curves.
- Select hairSystem in the Outliner or Hypergraph. (Window > Outliner, Window > Hypergraph: Hierarchy)
- Optionally, select , and then select either To Start Curves, To Rest Curves, or to Current Positions.
