Frame the selected objects

You can frame both parent and child objects, or only the parent objects without their children.

To frame only the parent objects without their children:

  • In a view panel, select View > Frame Selection or press F to frame the selected objects in that view.

  • From the main menu, select Display > Frame Selection in All Views or press Shift + F to frame selected objects in all views.

To frame both the parent objects and their children:

  • In a view panel, select View > Frame Selection with Children or press Ctrl + F to frame the selected objects and their children in that view.

  • From the main menu, select Display > Frame Selection with Children in All Views or press Ctrl + Shift+ F to frame selected objects and their children in all views.

In Maya 2016 and Maya 2016 Extension 1, you can select View > Frame Selection or press F to frame the selected objects (parents and their children).

Frame all objects

In a view panel, select View > Frame all or press A to frame all objects in that view.

From the main menu, choose Display > Frame All in All Views or press Shift+A to frame all objects in all views.

Point the camera at the selected objects but don’t move the camera.

In a view panel, select View > Look at selection.
