Export LOD groups to your game engine

  1. Select an LOD_Group_n node in the Outliner or Hypershade.

    (For information on setting up LODs, see Create an LOD group.)

  2. Select File > Export Selection from the main menu bar.
  3. In the Export Selection window set FBX Export as the file type.
    Important: To ensure that your LOD threshold settings transfer, confirm that Animation is on and that the FBX plug-in version is 2016.1 or later in the Export Selection window.
  4. Enter a file name and click Export Selection.

    The FBX file containing your LODs is saved to the specified location.

If you're using Autodesk Stingray, you can simply import the FBX file into the Asset Browser, then place the unit in a level. Look for the topic 'Import and test LODs using FBX' in the Stingray Help for more detailed information.
