Lambert and Phong materials from original geometry can be saved with cached objects when you create a GPU cache file. These material are rendered when the cache is played back in Viewport 2.0.
You can also export the original object's color information, including baked diffuse color data. If the original object includes textures, no color information is exported. The textures and materials from the source objects are replaced by the default shading color. GPU cached objects render with color information in mental ray.
