Setting the nominal maximum deflection for the warpage indicator

When the Warp analysis has completed, the Warp Indicator results use a plane, reference points, and a Nominal Maximum Deflection value, to evaluate the part against a maximum out-of-plane deflection.

Note: Deflection results do not use a Nominal Maximum Deflection value as the actual deflection can be determined using the Examine tool (Results tab > Examine panel > Examine).

To set the nominal maximum deflection immediately after running a Warp analysis, apply the following steps.

  1. On the Warp page of the Summary pane, which appears automatically at the end of the analysis, click a Warpage indicatorresult. The Warp Constraints dialog appears.
  2. Define and set up the required plane for warpage comparison. The defined plane will apply to all other Warp results. A best fit transformation will be used to display the warpage if no anchor plane is defined.
  3. Accept the default maximum deflection value, or enter a specific value in the Nominal max. deflection text box.
  4. Click Apply to calculate the Warpage Indicator results.
