Importing a CAD model

The Import Wizard will help you import existing CAD model files to begin the part design process.

Before you import a model create a new project, or open an existing project, in which to store the model.

1. Click (Home tab > Import Panel > Import)
2. Click Browse to navigate to your CAD file and click Open. If you have recently imported the model, it can be selected from the Recently imported models list.
3. Click Next. The Import Wizard - Units dialog appears.
4. Select the appropriate units from the drop-down list and click Next. The Import wizard - Advanced options dialog appears.
5. Select the required advanced options and click Next. The Import wizard - Processing wizard appears and an initial check of the model takes place.
6. Select the required Analysis type for your model.
   Note: You can view the processing log by selecting the Show Log checkbox.
7. Click Finish.

The model appears inside the Model pane.
