Align a part

The Align tool enables you to arrange parts in a multi-cavity mold so that the injection locations are aligned correctly.

When the injection locations in the X, Y or Z direction are aligned relative to one another, you can design a runner system that will deliver the melt to the mold cavities in a uniform and balanced manner.

1. Make sure you have selected the Multi-cavity mold type.
2. Make sure all injection cones are deselected.
3. Click (Geometry tab > Layout panel > Align).
4. Click the injection cone of one part you want to align, then hold down the Ctrl key and click to select the injection cone of the other part(s) you want to align.
5. Select the direction in which you want to move your part from the Alignment direction drop-down box. Then select the part to align with from the Align with part drop-down box.
6. Click Apply to see the result without closing the dialog. Click OK to accept the result and close the dialog.
