Color |
Select the plot to be displayed on the Warp Deflection result. The direction of the warpage in a particular coordinate, or the (coordinate independent) magnitude of the warpage can also be selected. - Dataset
- Displays the contoured result to be displayed on the deflection plot.
- By default, the deflection result itself will be overlaid on the deflected part. You can select a different result to overlay on the deflected part by clicking the Browse button on the right.
- Browse (Deflection Plot Overlay)
- Select the result to overlay on the deflected part.
- Magnitude/Component
- Select which component of the selected coordinate system will be displayed by the color plot.
Change the drop-down option to reveal component options pertaining to Cartesian, or Cylindrical.
- Reference coordinate system
- Select the reference coordinate system. This is fixed to Global unless an Anchor plane has been previously defined.
- Coordinate system type
- Select between a cylindrical or Cartesian coordinate system to view the vector-based result.
Note: The cylindrical coordinate system is a three-dimensional system which essentially extends circular polar coordinates by adding a third coordinate (Z) which measures the height of a point above the plane.
|
Scale factor |
Specify how to magnify the warpage result to enhance the plot visualization. - Value
- Enter magnification value to improve the visualization of the warpage result.
For example, entering 10 will increase the warpage display by a factor of 10 on the model.
- Direction
- Select the direction for the scaled warpage result to be displayed on the model.

Shrinkage compensation |
How much a part shrinks will depend on the material used, processing conditions and geometry of the part. To manufacture a part to the required finished size, the mold cavity needs to be larger than the nominal size. Shrinkage compensation is an estimate of how much larger the cavity should be. - Options
- Select the material properties to apply to the part shrinkage:
- None
- No shrinkage calculated.
- Automatic
- Use the measured material shrinkage properties if these are available.
- Isotropic
- Enter a value of shrinkage. This value will be applied to all three axes.
- Anisotropic
- Enter a value for the X, Y, and Z direction shrinkage.
- Estimated shrinkage
- Displays the Automatic shrinkage or enter required shrinkage for the isotropic or anisotropic options.
- Reference coordinate system
- Select either the Global or a predefined local coordinate system.

Show anchor plane |
Display the currently active anchor plane on the model. |
Overlay with undeformed part |
Select to overlay the warpage result on the undeformed part, allowing a clear view of the predicted warpage. |
