Mold material dialog - Thermal Tab

The Thermal tab of the Mold material dialog is used to specify the thermal properties of the mold material.

To access this dialog, click Search (Tools tab > Databases panel > Search). Select Mold material as the Property type and then click OK. Click the Details button, then click on the Thermal tab.

Widget Explanation
Mold density

Specifies the mass of a unit volume of the mold. The values (0:30) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.

Mold specific heat

Specifies the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of one unit mass of the mold by one degree. The numbers (0:2000) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.

Mold thermal conductivity

Specifies the quantity of heat that flows in one second along a unit distance of the mold when the temperature of the faces of the mold differ by one degree. The numbers (0:1000) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.

Mold coefficient of thermal expansion

Predicts the effect of the mold expansion on part quality in a Warp analysis. The numbers (0:10) indicate the range of acceptable values you can enter.
