Solver message 702670

Message Text

** WARNING 702670 ** A very low conductivity mold material has been detected. If this material is intended to be the mold material, the solver may take a long time to converge. If convergence is not reached the maximum number of mold iterations may need to be increased.

Explanation

The material you are using for the Mold block is not the most suitable for this analysis, because its conductivity is very low. The combination of its low conductivity, and the number of mold iterations set, the solver is unable to reach a solution. You can either select a more conductive mold material, or increase the maximum number of mold iterations to see if a solution can be reached.

Resolution

  • To change the mold material,
    1. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup > Process Settings).
    2. Click Advanced options.
    3. Click Select associated with Mold material.
    4. In the Select Mold material dialog, select a material with a high conductivity than the current selection, then click Select.
    5. Click OK, to close each dialog.
  • To alter the maximum number of mold iterations,
    1. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup > Process Settings).
    2. Click Advanced options.
    3. Click Edit associated with Solver parameters.
    4. Select the Cool Analysis tab, then change the Maximum number of mold temperature iterations to a value between 10 and 10,000.
    5. Click OK, to close each dialog.
