Warpage results

Additional results that show actual part deflection for both Dual Domain and 3D models has been added.

Previously, all available warpage results only displayed three result values. These values were based on a Nominal Maximum Deflection (NMD). Areas of the part were designated one of the three colors depending on what percentage of the NMD an area of the part was deflected. Areas less than 80% of the NMD were Green, areas between 80% and 120% of the NMD were orange, while areas with a warpage greater than 120% NMD were red.

This did not enable an assessment of the magnitude the part was deflected.

With this release, four additional results have been added to the Warp section of the Results.

These results show the distance the part is away from a prescribed Anchor or Best Fit Plane.

Results are shaded by default, and the deflection at a specific point can be determined using the standard Examine tool (Results tab > Results pane > Examine).

These results can be shown as contours and also be animated over time.

Note: For a 3D model to display all four results, the option Disable aggregation for 3D warp analysis must be selected from the Advanced tab of the Analysis Wizard. If not selected only Deflection, all effects is available.
