Rather than setting up new studies from scratch, you can copy study settings from study to another, maybe to compare different models run under the same conditions, or maybe because most of the settings are the same, and you only want to change one or two. This tool enables you to copy study settings:
- Material
- Mesh type
- Mesh settings
- Molding process
- Analysis sequence
- Process settings
If you select any of these study settings, all the relevant settings are copied. If you select Process Settings or Mesh Settings, for example, ALL the settings are copied. The Study Settings selection changes depending on the molding process, analysis sequence and other settings of the original study.
Make sure you have created a project and that it contains the original study with the study settings you are interested in copying, as well as target studies to which you want to copy the settings.
- Open the project containing the studies you are working with.
- Select the original study, click the right-hand mouse button and select Copy Study settings from the context menu. Notice that the Paste Study settings option, below it, is not active at this stage.
- Select the target study, click the right-hand mouse button and select Paste Study settings from the context menu, which is now active.
The Copy Study Settings dialog appears, listing the study settings that can be copied, the values in the original study and the current values of the target study. This gives you an opportunity to compare and decide which of the target settings you want to overwrite.
- In the Copy Study Settings dialog, check the study settings that you want to copy, and add notes for the Study Note at the bottom, if appropriate.
Note: If you select Process Settings, all the process settings will be copied. You cannot select some process settings, but not others.
- Repeat for all remaining target studies
