The Time Control (Cool) tab of the Process controller dialog is used to specify default values for cycle time related inputs.
General settings
- Injection + packing + cooling time
- Injection + packing + cooling time is equivalent to the total cycle time minus the mold-open time. You can either specify this time directly, or calculate this time automatically during the analysis.
Note: If you select Automatic , click Edit ejection criteria and enter the target ejection temperature and % frozen at ejection.
- Mold-open time
- Specify the time taken from the completion of one molding cycle, to the beginning of the next.
- Ambient temperature
- The ambient temperature should be set to the average ambient temperature at the site where the injection molding occurs.
The default value for ambient temperature is 25°C (77°F).
You can change this value to match the ambient temperature at your site. The new value will be used throughout the analysis sequence. The program uses the ambient temperature value to calculate a nominal stroke volume by multiplying the cavity volume by the ratio of the material density at the ambient temperature to the density at melt temperature.
