Import dialog

This dialog is used to select the parameters for the model import process, in particular the target mesh type and the module to perform the import (internal or Autodesk Moldflow Design Link).

To access this dialog, click Import Import from the Quick Access toolbar, then locate and open the model file you want to import.

Note: You still have the opportunity to change the mesh type at a later time by right-clicking on the mesh type and selecting the required entry in the Set Mesh Type menu.

Dialog elements

Mesh Control
Models are imported as native geometry to give you the opportunity to inspect the model first, before meshing, and provides you with the mesh options that can be created.

Select the type of mesh that you intend to create. The mesh node in the Study Tasks pane will confirm the type of mesh that you selected.

Show import log
Displays a log file on completion.

This can be useful for diagnosing why a model was not imported as expected. The log file shows the entities that were imported and also those that are not supported and therefore could not be imported.

Direct Import using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link (What's This Help)
Imports the original model in its native CAD format.
Process using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link
