Conformal cooling channels are meshed with the 3D Channel Mesh tool.
Before attempting to use the 3D channel mesh, check the following requirements have been met:
- A part model is in your study and has been meshed.
- The analysis sequence includes a Cool (FEM) analysis.
- An injection location has been set for the part.
- A CAD representation of the conformal cooling body has been created and added to the study, using ().
- Channel (3D) Inlets and Channel (3D) outlets have been assigned. There should be an equal number of conformal cooling inlets and outlets.
- Click ().
- Check the default values in the Generate 3D Channel Mesh dialog.
- Once all the values are set appropriately, click Mesh Now.
Note: While the conformal cooling channels are being meshed with 3D tetrahedral elements, any visible conventional cooling channels will be meshed with beam elements.
