Set Up and Run the Analysis

  1. In the tree view, right-click on Analysis 1 and select Edit.
  2. Type Propeller Modal Analysis for Name, and type Normal Modes for Title. Select Normal Modes from the Type drop-down menu.

  3. Click OK and return to the tree view.
  4. In the tree view, right-click on Modal Setup 1, choose Edit.

  5. Enter 6 for the Number of Modes to be extracted.

  6. This will instruct Nastran to calculate the first 6 natural frequencies.
  7. Click OK to finish setting up the analysis and return to the tree view. The model is now ready to be analyzed.
  8. Right-click on Propeller Modal Analysis and choose Solve in Nastran.
