Set Up the Analysis

  1. In the tree view, right-click on Analysis 1 and choose Edit.
  2. Type Manifold Analysis for Name, and type NL SS Heat Transfer for Title. Select Nonlinear Steady State Heat Transfer from the Type drop-down menu.
  3. The dialog should look as shown below.

  4. Click OK to finish setting up the analysis and return to the tree view. The model is now ready to be analyzed.
  5. Right-click on the empty space of the tree view and select Default Settings.

  6. In Default Settings, select General, then under Generated Nastran File Name section select Analysis.

    Generated Nastran File Name allows you to set the Nastran and FNO file created using the analysis name. In this case, Thermal Stress Analysis is selected as Analysis in order to have the thermal analysis FNO file saved with the analysis name, which will be used in the Linear Static Analysis as Load from Output in order to execute Thermal Stress Analysis. Make sure to switch back to the Model radio button once this tutorial is done.

  7. Click OK.
