Define the Mesh

1. Right-click on Mesh Model and select Edit.
2. Enter the Element Size as 0.25 (m).
3. Change the Element Order to Linear.
4. Uncheck Continuous Meshing, as the mesh is solid mesh.

   

   

5. Click on Update button to mesh the geometry.
6. Click OK.
7. Notice that the mesh is coarse. Hence, to have the proper contact elements to develop between punch and die with sheet, you have to create mesh control on edges.
8. Right-click Mesh Model and select Add Mesh Control.
9. Click on Selected Edges selection box to shift the focus from vertex data and select the edges on both sides, as shown in the image below.

   

10. Enter 20 for Number of Elements.
11. Click on New button.
12. Select the sheet slab's four side edges as shown in the image below.

    

13. Enter 50 for Number of Elements.
14. Click OK.
15. Right-click Mesh Model and select Update All Meshes.
