Define the Element Properties as Cross Section

1. In the tree view, right-click on Physical Properties and choose New.
2. Rename the property to Beam Cross Section Property.
3. Select Line Elements from the Type drop-down menu.
4. Select Beam from the Line Element Type drop-down menu.
5. Select Cross Section radio button from the Input Type group box and click on Define button.
6. Define the cross section as mentioned in the image below. Click Draw End A button to view the properties.

   

7. Click OK.
8. Make sure Associated Geometry is unchecked.

   

   This will create a mesh with the cross sectional properties for each one of the sketch segments in the model.

9. Click OK to create the physical property.
