During the design process, you can perform energy analysis using a combination of Revit conceptual masses and building elements.
This approach can be useful in the following scenarios:
By performing energy analysis using this mixed mode, you can check that the model, in its current state, continues to meet or move toward sustainability goals.
To use Energy Analysis for Autodesk® Revit®, first use Revit to create the model, including building elements in those parts of the design that are more detailed, and conceptual masses for those parts that are in the early design stage. Create mass floors for the conceptual masses. If a mass does not contain mass floors, it is treated as a shade object for the purposes of the simulation.
Then define energy settings and submit a whole building energy simulation to the Autodesk Green Building Studio cloud service. When Revit displays an alert, the simulation is complete and ready for viewing.
