Create or Delete the Energy Model

Use these tools to create or delete the energy analytical model to be used in an energy simulation for a Revit model.

Create the Energy Model

If no energy analytical model currently exists for the Revit model, the Create Energy Model button displays on the Analyze tab of the ribbon.

Use the Create Energy Model tool to create the energy model in the following situations:

Open a 3D view, and click Analyze tabEnergy Analysis panel (Create Energy Model).

While the energy model is being created, the software is not available for other tasks.

When complete, the energy model displays in the drawing area. The resulting energy model is determined by the following factors:

When you save the project, Revit saves the energy model with the project.

Delete the Energy Model

If an energy analytical model currently exists, the Delete Energy Model button displays on the Analyze tab of the ribbon.

Delete the energy model when you want to remove it from the Revit project, or before regenerating the energy model to reflect recent changes to the Revit model.

When you update the building model, Revit does not automatically update the energy model.

To update the energy model to reflect recent changes to the design, first click Delete Energy Model . Then click Create Energy Model to create an updated energy model.
