If you are migrating an existing project into
Collaboration for Revit (C4R), there are likely links between your project models that need to be migrated. Use this procedure to migrate linked models for a
Revit project for collaboration in the cloud.
When you initiate collaboration in the cloud from
Revit on a model that includes
Revit links, you also need to migrate the linked models. Initiate cloud collaboration from
Revit on each of the linked models, and then use the Manage Links tool to reload the links from their cloud location.
- Open the linked model in
Revit.
- Click Collaborate tab
Manage Collaboration panel
(Collaborate).
- Select the cloud project where the host
Revit model is stored, and click OK.
- In the Collaborate Cloud dialog, click Initiate.
Revit displays information about the status of the initiation process.
- Click Close to continue.
- Repeat the above process for each linked
Revit model.
- After you have initiated cloud collaboration from
Revit on all linked models, open the host model in
Revit.
- Click Manage Tab
Manage Project panel
(Manage Links).
- On the Revit tab of the Manage Links dialog, select a linked model, and click Reload From.
Notice that the file browser opens by default to the cloud project location.
- Select the name of the linked file, and click Open.
The cloud version of the link will be locally-cached on your machine and loaded.
- Repeat the previous 2 steps to reload each linked model from the cloud location.
- Click OK to close the Manage Links dialog.
Note: When a cloud project is renamed, the Manage Links dialog may still reference the old project name in the link paths. The links will still resolve correctly, however the path may be confusing. Use the Synchronize with Central command to update the Saved Path to the new project name, and then click Reload to update the link paths in the Manage Links dialog.
