Create a Spiral Stair by Sketch

You can use the Stair by Sketch tool to create a spiral of fewer than 360 degrees.

If you overlap spiral runs, a warning is displayed; the stringers and railings are not placed accurately.

1. Open a plan or 3D view.
2. Click Architecture tabCirculation panelStair drop-down (Stair by Sketch).
3. Optionally, on the Work Plane panel, click (Set), to select a different work plane for the stairs. See About Work Planes.
4. Click Modify | Create Stairs Sketch tabDraw panel (Center-ends Arc).
5. In the drawing area, click to select a center point for the spiral.
6. Click a start point.
7. Click an end point to complete the spiral.

8. Click (Finish Edit Mode).

Tip: To create a spiral staircase to multiple levels, on the Properties palette, under Constraints, specify the top level for the Multistory Top Level parameter.
