Edit a Fabrication Part

Edit a fabrication part to define the necessary dimensional values and connector settings.

The Edit Part tool opens the Edit Part dialog. Use this dialog to edit dimensions and connectors for a fabrication part.
Note: Only properties associated with connectors that are not connected to another part can be modified.
Note: The Edit Part tool is not available for hangers.

    You can edit a part before you place it by selecting it in the MEP Fabrication Parts palette. You can also edit a part after it has been placed in the drawing area.

  1. Select the part you want to edit.
  2. Click Modify | Place Fabrication Part tabOptions panel(Edit Part).

    3. The preview pane displays the edited part. Use the ViewCube navigation tool to change the orientation of the part in the preview pane.

  3. In the Edit Part dialog, edit the properties on the Dimensions tab or the Connectors tab.
  4. Click Apply to preview the changes.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.
