You can apply a multi-category tag to any kind of component, regardless of its category, by applying a filter parameter to a tag.
- Click

New
(Annotation Symbol), select the Multi-Category Tag.rft template for imperial, or M_Multi-Category Tag.rft for metric, and click Open. The Family Editor opens.
- Click Create tab

(Label).
- Click in the drawing area. The Edit Label dialog opens.
- Select one or more parameters in the Category Parameters list, and click
(Add parameters to label).
- (Optional) Include a shared parameter.
- Click
(Add Parameter).
- In the Parameter Properties dialog, click Select and select the parameter to add to the label.
- Click OK twice.
The selected parameter displays in the Category Parameters list.
- Select the parameter from the Category Parameters list and click
(Add parameters to label). Note: If you do not specify a filter parameter for the tag, the tag can attach to any component.
- Click OK.
- Create the tag using the Lines tool and save the file.
Tip: If you want to change the filter parameter for the tag, click Create tab

Properties panel


(Family Category and Parameters). Change the value of Filter Parameter in the dialog. You can select a shared parameter as the filter parameter, and then when placing the multi-category tag, the tag placement tool will only let you place the tag on elements that contain that parameter.
