Adding a Launch Screencast icon to your product is not required, but it is highly recommended.
The suggested implementation is to provide both a global UI element, and an element within a menu or ribbon tab. Icons are provided with the SDK. A tooltip is also recommended.
The sample application provided with the Screencast SDK shows how to launch the Screencast recording utility. When Facade::Initialize() is called, it starts the Screencast Recorder. When this call is made during InitInstance() of an application, Screencast Recorder automatically starts with the application, but the recorder is in hidden mode.

Screencast icons in various sizes are included in the SDK, in the icons folder. There is one .ico file and several .png files, all named Chronicle.*.

Tooltip Extended Description (if supported): Use the Screencast Recording Utility to create an enhanced video screen recording of your work. Screencast captures video, voice narration, and workflow metadata such as the commands and settings that you use.
Screencast uploads recordings to the Screencast website so you can share the recordings with your colleagues or the community.
