Installation Requirements
To use this service pack, CFD 2016 must already be installed on the system. This service pack installs over the existing CFD installation.
- Autodesk® CFD supports the following operating systems:
- Verify that you have administrator privileges on your local machine to install Autodesk® CFD 2016 Service Pack 2.
Installation Instructions
Autodesk® recommends automatic installation of service packs.
Note: When installation is complete, the version number displayed in the About dialog is 16.2.
Automatic Install
Use the Autodesk® Application Manager to install available service packs.
Manual Install
Download Autodesk® CFD 2016 Service Pack 2
here.
To install the service pack:
- Log in to the computer using an account with
Administrator privileges.
- Exit any Autodesk® programs, as well as other CAD programs, that are currently running.
- Navigate to the service pack file, right click on it, and select
Run as Administrator.
- On the dialog box that states that CFD 2016 Server is running, you can click
Ignore and reboot after the installation is complete. (Not applicable to CFD Flex 2016)
Note: To avoid the reboot warning dialog, cancel and exit the install. On the Start menu, click
Autodesk
CFD 2016
CFD 2016 Server Manager and select
Stop. Begin the installation process again and, when complete, return to the server manager dialog and click
Start to restart the server.
Uninstall Instructions
If you should need to uninstall the service pack perform the following steps:
- Verify that Autodesk® CFD is not running.
- Open the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel).
- Select Programs > Programs and Features.
- Click on
View installed updates in the menu column on the left.
- Select Autodesk CFD 2016 SP2. Note that the Version number of the service pack is 16.2.
- Click Uninstall/Change to uninstall the service pack.
Note: If you uninstall the service pack, it will no longer show as available for reinstallation through the Autodesk® Application Manager. Use the manual installation procedure to reinstall the service pack without using the Application Manager.
Issues Addressed in the Service Pack
- Scalar solver does not account for Eddy diffusivity.
- Incorrect heat flux result presented by wall calculator when using contact resistance between two solids.
- CFDCrypt.dll and CFDEmail.dll outdated relative to other DLL files when upgrading from CFD 2016 to CFD 2016 SP1.
- CFD graphics card crashes when:
- Adding a trace set with a grid spacing of 0 points.
- Enabling mass for a trace set.
- Updating a summary image with transparent materials and trace particles.
- Editing the legend scale with an ISO Volume present.
- Deleting individual trace particles or trace sets.
- Calculating bulk results on a cut plane.
- Adding a results point using Add.
- Using Show Results on a volume with a visible cut plane.
- Undoing or redoing geometry updates.
- Adding an Iso Surface and editing the legend range of the result quantity.
- Switching between scenarios with traces.
