Initial Velocity

Apply Initial Velocity

If you have parts selected, you can right-click in the display area and select the Add pull-out menu. Select the Initial Velocity command.

Specify the components of the translation and/or rotational velocities in the Translational Magnitude and Rotational Magnitude sections. If you are applying a rotational velocity, specify the point about which the part is rotating in the Center of Rotation section.

The rotations follow the right-hand rule in the specified axis directions about the specified rotation point. For example, a gear centered at (3, 12, 32) and in the YZ plane would have an initial Rotational Magnitude X and Center of Rotation at (-, 12, 32); since the rotation is about the X direction, the X coordinate of the center point is not important. A positive magnitude would rotate the gear counter clockwise as seen from the YZ-Right view (X axis pointed out toward the viewer).
