You can export the results of modal analyses and the associated geometry (mesh) to a RecurDyn RFlex Input (RFI) file for use in RecurDyn. The following conditions must be satisfied:
- The analysis type must be Linear
Natural Frequency (Modal). RecurDyn RFI file export is
not
supported for Natural Frequency (Modal) with Load Stiffening or Natural Frequency (Modal) with Nonlinear Material Models.
- You must be in the Results environment with the results of the supported analysis type loaded.
- The model must be comprised of solid elements and rigid elements only. Planar elements and other line elements (aside from rigid) are not currently supported for RecurDyn RFI file exporting.
From the Results environment, execute the following command to export an RFI file:
- Click

Export
RecurDyn RFI.
- Navigate to the folder where you want to save the RFI file.
- Specify the desired File name.
- Click Save.
Unlike the majority of third-party FEA file formats, which are text files, the RFI file is a binary file format.
