Autodesk® SimStudio facilitates model preparation for use in CFD and Moldflow®. This Readme highlights supported features for this release and important known issues.

Supported Configurations

• Operating Systems: Win 7, Win 8, Win 8.1 (x64)
• Memory: 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)
• Localization: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal), Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional)
• Direct model transfer from the following products: Autodesk® CFD 2018, Autodesk® Moldflow® Insight 2018, and Autodesk® Moldflow® Adviser 2018.

Installation Instructions

1. Uninstall previous software versions from the Project Arro labs program or the SimStudio Beta. Some early builds of Project Arro may require the Microsoft Fix It tool for complete removal of files.
2. Install SimStudio by means of the installation package from one of the following: Autodesk® CFD 2018, Autodesk® Moldflow® Insight 2018, or Autodesk® Moldflow® Adviser 2018.

Known Issues

• DWG / DWF is not supported.
• IGES export doesn't include sketches.
• Materials are not retained when connecting to CFD.
• Split Face with automatic face projection can fail. If this occurs, try using the Along Vector project type option.
• The Repair Guide appears when an issue is selected, but disappears after a short interval. If appropriate, pin the Repair Guide so it does not disappear.
• SimStudio files are not listed using the Insert command when the SimStudio / F3D filter is selected. Use the default "all supported files" instead.
• In the Select by Size dialog, if you select hundreds of bodies, SimStudio can become unresponsive when you click the cancel selections button (red x). Instead, click the dialog Cancel button to clear these selections.
• For locales using a 24-hour clock, model file time stamps, on the Home tab, display in AM/PM time format.
• "Free Edge" is not localized in the unstitched edges table of the Stitch dialog.
• A rare event may occur on the Windows 7 OS in which SimStudio becomes stuck displaying the splash screen. If this occurs, install the hotfix available from Microsoft.
