Vault supports Inventor's flexible handling of third-party CAD files. However, there are some restrictions in how these third-party CAD files are handled by Vault.

During Assign Item, Vault creates a BOM row only for the top level of the AnyCAD reference. For example, if the AnyCAD reference is a Solidworks assembly, the BOM row is created only for the assembly and not any children. Vault creates an item for the top level of the AnyCAD reference and links it to the Inventor model as if the top level assembly is a virtual part. |
