We now define surface contact between the crank and the partial link to accurately simulate the behavior of this connection. The link is free to articulate slightly as the assembly deforms under load.
- Click the Part 3 < Crank > heading in the browser (tree view) to select it.
- Holding down the Ctrl key, click the Part 4 < Partial Link > heading in the browser to select it also.
- Right-click on one of the two selected headings and choose Contact
Surface Contact from the context menu. . - Press Enter to accept the default contact pair name. Note: The contact item, Surface < 3 with 4> has been added to the Contact list near the bottom of the browser. The default contact type is Bonded, which will apply wherever any parts meet, except for Part 3-to-Part 4 contact.
- Press Esc to clear the selection.
