Define the Brick Element Definition

Next, we assign the element definition for parts 1, 2, and 3 (bricks).

1. Select the Element Definition heading for Part 1 in the browser (tree view).
   1. Hold down the Ctrl key and select the Element Definition heading for Part 2 in the browser.
   2. Hold down the Ctrl key and select the Element Definition heading for Part 3 in the browser.
2. Right-click one of the selected headings and choose Edit Element Definition.
   1. Ensure that the Large Displacement option is selected in the Analysis Type drop-down list. If you change the Analysis Type option, a pop-up message appears. Click OK to dismiss the message.
   2. Click OK to accept the element definition.
   Note: The large displacement option is enabled by default. However, this setting can be changed by deactivating the Use large displacement as default for nonlinear analyses checkbox in the Analysis tab of the Application Options dialog box.
