Exercise 2: Open the AutoCAD Drawing

Open the AutoCAD drawing to see how it looks.

If you are connected to the Internet, play the video to see how to open and edit the plain AutoCAD DWG file that you created in the last exercise. You can also click "Let Me Try" to try it yourself. The steps for this procedure are listed below the video.

To open and edit the plain AutoCAD DWG you saved

1. Click Open.
2. Open the file you saved in the last exercise.
3. When the drawing opens, right-click the service point you created and click Properties.

   The service point itself is now a block reference labeled SERVICE POINT. It was placed on a Service Point layer and its color is set to ByLayer.

4. Press Escape to deselect the service point.
5. Click Home tab > AutoCAD Layers panel > Layer Properties.
6. In the Layer Properties Manager, turn off the display of a layer by clicking its light bulb icon.
7. Set another layer's color to red.
8. Close the Layer Properties Manager to see the results.
