Composite Settings

Review and adjust default settings for the design procedure, beam and slab materials, studs, deflections and camber.

Composite settings, in particular a method of calculating internal forces, have a direct impact on how design and analysis are performed. You can modify default settings in the dialog as long as their values comply with requirements of the ANSI/AISC 360-10 code. The settings are saved and stored after closing the extension. You can restore default settings by clicking Restore Defaults.

To access the dialog, click Edit > Composite Settings.

Units for composite settings are read from the Robot model. To access unit settings in Robot, click Tools > Job Preferences > Units and Formats.

To select a method of calculating internal forces:

  1. In the Composite Settings dialog, click the Design tab.
  2. Under Internal Forces, select Internal Engine or Robot Structural Analysis.

Composite settings are divided into 4 categories: Design, Beam and slab materials, Studs, and Deflections and camber.
