So far we have paired the bodies in our structural assembly with the corresponding Moldflow studies, calculated strength reduction factors for the weld surfaces, and mapped the results. Now we can export the model and run the structural analysis.
- Click
(Home > Export > Settings).
- Switch to the Rupture tab, activate the
Enable Rupture check box, and click
OK.
Before exporting, we must define the export settings for the pedal arm pair.
- Click
(Home > Assemblies > Display).
- Select the pedal arm pair. Since weld surfaces are only used in the pedal arm model, we must switch the display in order to verify that weld surface results will be exported to the .sif file.
- Click
(Home > Export > Settings).
- Make sure
Output weld surfaces is activated.
- Switch to the Rupture tab, activate the
Enable Rupture check box, and click
OK.
- Click
(Home > Export > Export to Structural Package).
- Name the file
pedal_assembly_ame.inp and click
Save.
Now we are ready to run our analysis.
- Open a command prompt and navigate to the directory containing the .inp, .hin, and .sif files (use the Command Shell desktop shortcut to easily open a command prompt).
- Enter the following command to submit the model for analysis (in this case with Abaqus 6.14-1):
>>abq6141 job=pedal_assembly_ame
Refer to the
Run the Analysis section of the User's Guide for details on setting up the environment file to point to the material model.
