Frame Generator files created in Autodesk Inventor 2008 require migration to Autodesk Inventor 2017 and Content Center to work with the Change Frame Members and Refresh commands. The migration process adds the Content Center data to the 2008 parts. Autodesk Inventor 2017 can then treat these files like other Content Center parts.
Before you begin these procedures:
- Verify that the Content Center is connected, and the required libraries are attached to the current project.
- In the browser, set the Level of Detail (LOD) to Master. Resolve any components that are marked unresolved.
For more information, see the Migration topic.
Start in the assembly environment.
Use the Migrate command
- Open a file that was created in Autodesk Inventor 2008 and contains frame members.
- Click File Manage Migrate.
All parts in the file are migrated, and the Frame Generator specific files are identical to those generated using Get Instance of Content Center.
Save files to the current version
- Open a file that was created in Autodesk Inventor 2008 and contains frame members.
- Without modifying parts specific to Frame Generator, click File Save.
- In the Save dialog box, click Yes to All then click OK.
All files are migrated together, regardless of the settings in the Save dialog box.
Execute a Frame Generator command
- Open a file that was created in a previous version of Autodesk Inventor and contains frame members.
- On the Design tab, Frame panel, start a command and click OK.
