Select the molding process

In this task, you select the molding process and the analysis sequence, steps necessary to run a compression molding analysis.

1. Click (Start & Learn tab > Launch panel > New Project).
2. Type in Compression molding tutorial for the Project Name.
3. Click OK.
4. Click (Home tab > Import panel > Import).
5. Select the Files of type drop-down list.
6. Select Study files (*.sdy).
7. Navigate to the Tutorial that was downloaded from the first page.
8. Click the file compression_tutorial.sdy and click Open.
9. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Thermoplastics Injection Molding) and select Reactive Compression Molding from the drop-down menu. For this tutorial you are selecting a reactive compression process because you are using a thermoset material. If you were selecting a thermoplastic material you would select Thermoplastics Compression Molding instead.
