The 3D residual stress model was an option in 2017 R2. With the 2017.3 release, this model is now the default.
You can now get more accurate results for the shrinkage, warpage, and molded-in residual stress, without having to change the 3D shrinkage model. If you leave the default settings, the
Uncorrected residual stress model is run, by default.
Basic workflow to change back to the Generic shrinkage model:
Note: Make sure you have a 3D model, and that you select an analysis sequence that includes
Warp.

Next until you reach the page with the
Advanced options button.
- Click
Advanced options.
- Click
Edit associated with the
Molding material.
- In the
Thermoplastics material dialog, select the
Shrinkage Properties tab, then select the
Generic shrinkage model model from the
Select a shrinkage model (3D) drop-down list.
