Thermoset support for the 3D residual stress model

The 3D residual stress model is now supported for the thermoset materials.

With this enhancement, molded-in residual stresses are now available for thermoset materials. As an added benefit, the accuracy of the shrinkage and warpage results is improved.

Note: Molded-in residual stress results are only available when the residual stress model is selected and mesh aggregation is turned off.

New Results

Three results for the molded-in residual stresses, that were only supported for thermoplastic materials, now appear for thermoset materials too:

Basic workflow to switch the shrinkage models:

Note: Make sure you have a 3D model, and that you select an analysis sequence that includes Fill+Pack+Warp or Cool+Fill+Pack+Warp .
  1. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup > Process Settings).
  2. If necessary, click Next until you reach the page with the Advanced options button.
  3. Click Advanced options.
  4. Click Edit associated with the Molding material.
  5. In the Thermoset material dialog, select the Shrinkage Properties tab, then select the Uncorrected residual stress model from the Select a shrinkage model (3D) drop-down list.
