When rendering an animation, you can render a sequence of frames without having to batch render. For convenience, you can also add these images to the Render View for preview.
In the Frame/Animation ext drop-down list, select any of the options with a #; for example: name.#.ext. The Start frame and End frame attributes in the Frame Range section become active, where you can set your frame range.
The title bar of the Render Sequence window indicates the frames that will be rendered; for example: Frame:1-10.
Render all layers and/or all cameras
Under Render Options, enable Render All Layers and Render All Cameras to render multiple layers and cameras. If these options are disabled, then only the active layer and active camera are rendered. These rendered images are saved to disk.
Save images to Render View
To save these images to the Render View, enable Add to Render View.
Enable Add All Layers to add rendered images for all layers and Add All Cameras to add rendered images for all cameras. If these options are disabled, then only the active layer and active camera are saved to the Render View.
If images were saved to the Render View, use the slider at the bottom of the Render View window to scroll through the rendered image sequence.
You can verify the path to which your rendered images are saved via the Render Settings window, Common tab. Your rendered images are saved to a tmp folder in this path.
Rendering a region of your scene is supported with this feature.
Marquee select the area that you want to render in the Render View, then enable Render Region in the Render Sequence options window, and click Render Sequence.
You can use the Arnold for Maya renderer to render AOV's and save the images to disk. All AOVs listed in AOVs tab of the Render Settings window are rendered to disk.
The Render Options that you have selected in the Render Sequence window are respected. For example, if you enable Render All Layers but disable Render All Cameras, then the AOVs for each of your render layers are rendered and saved to disk, but only the current camera is rendered.
You can save one AOV to the Render View. Select it from the Render View AOV drop-down list in the AOVs tab of the Render Settings window.
The Render View Options that you have selected in the Render Sequence window are also respected. For example, if you enable Add All Layers, then the AOV renders for each frame and for each layer are saved to the Render View.
